Undyed, naturally tanned leather is revered for the subtle patina it develops over time, slowly transforming and becoming more tied to those who use it, deepening in both complexity and meaning. We consider these recordings part of what make natural leather special.

*Tanning is the process of curing raw hide into leather. Vegetable tanning is an organic process reliant upon the natural tannins contained within plants, and takes about 8 weeks to complete. By contrast, the majority of leather in the world is tanned by chemical methods (typically chrome), which is known to have harmful impacts on human health as well as the environment.
